The Yummy Part


I always look forward to putting the kettle on and welcoming couples into my studio to discuss their wedding cake. It is my chance to talk about their wedding day, understand their vision and plan the perfect wedding cake for them.

It’s so exciting to show them my designs.  It is an invaluable chance to explore the style of their wedding, the colours to be incorporated and to offer advice on which type of cake is appropriate for their wedding,  be it a traditionally iced fruit cake or a popular sponge cake covered in butter cream.

After our meeting, I send the couple a beautiful sketch of their design to keep as a momento.

Flavours

Whilst we chat over a cup of tea I offer each couple a variety of flavours to sample to ensure they are sure which flavours are their favourite.  It can often change once they have tasted my carrot cake!  Today’s couple often move away from the traditional fruit cake and if it’s simply impossible to decide, each tier can be a different flavour.

  • Chocolate with Seville Oranges

Although these are the most popular flavours I am more then happy to accommodate bespoke flavour requests.

Ingredients

I value the importance of using the best organic ingredients – wedding cakes deserve the best after all.  I buy organic, free range eggs from my local farm which I watch the chickens roaming happily around!

I ensure that each couple confirms any food allergies that need to be considered and leave a note alongside each cake confirming the ingredients for guests to review if required.

I am based in Coggeshall, Essex and will deliver cake free of charge within a 20 mile radius.  Delivery costs for further distances can be discussed.
